The Kitchen Manager runs our busy back of house operations located in the restaurant within our theatre. They are the heart of our restaurant operations. As the leaders of the kitchen, they are the culinary experts who keep our kitchens in pristine operating conditions. Kitchen Managers have the opportunity to select and motivate an elite group of back of house employees and manage the costs to ensure the overall financial success of the operations. We are looking for leaders and team players who encourage, drive, and motivate!
A Day in the Life of a Kitchen Manager :
The essential duties and responsibilities of a Kitchen Manager include, but are not limited to, the following :
Oversees kitchen in multi-faceted Restaurant / Entertainment sceneMonitors food safety for handling and preparation according to guidelinesConducts regular line checks, monitors stock levels, and manages inventory to ensure recipe adherenceSchedules and appoints tasks and responsibilities to kitchen staffCleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen which ensures equipment is cleaned daily, supplies stored properly, etc.Ensures efficient kitchen timing especially during peak hours to assure smooth seat side serviceReporting to the General Manager, the Kitchen Manager will effectively and efficiently assist in running a busy, high-volume kitchenCommunicates well with team to ensure Guests receive an extraordinary memorable dining experienceAssists in the preparation of administrative and special reportsWorks hand-in-hand with the management team to drive financial results in the theatre to reach new heightsEnsures that kitchen staff follow the dress codeLearns and follows the policies and procedures as established in Cinemark's Guidelines. Enforces these with all kitchen staff fairly and consistentlyReports all Employee relations issues to the General Manager and / or Restaurant General Manager (In the absence of the GM / RGM, management should report Employee relations issues to www.convercent.com)All management members must follow the Employee Relations Reporting ProtocolAll management members are held at a high work ethic standard and code of conductLeads or attends a mandatory Shift Huddle (team discussion) at the start of or during a shiftConducts Wellness Checks on kitchen staff on a daily basisPerforms the functions of Chief Clean & Safety Monitor during a shift, if assignedConsistently identifies and sanitizes high contact areas within and around the dining area (restaurant, lounge, bar, auditorium, and patio areas)Consistently ensures and promotes adherence of proper social distancing guidelinesProperly utilizes Personal Protective Equipment while completing position-specific tasksAdapts to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasksProperly addresses any safety or security issues (trip hazards, lighting, suspicious persons, etc.)Performs other work-related duties as assignedWhat You Will Need to Have :
Must be at least 18 years of ageHigh School or G.E.D. graduate preferredMinimum of 2-3 years of kitchen supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant preferredCompletion of three basic courses (Management Foundations, Annual Certifications, and MAP Core) within Cinemark's Management Accreditation ProgramCompletes basic food handling training and obtains any local or state mandated certification, health card, or food handlers permit where requiredManagement members who work with alcohol are required to complete a Safe Alcohol Service training programAvailability to work flexible hours which include evenings, weekends, and holidaysRequires regular and consistent attendanceHas an energetic and friendly attitude during each shiftProvides excellent Guest servicePossesses hearing, visual, and sensory abilities to observe and detect emergency situationsAbility to distinguish product, taste, texture, temperature, presentation, and preparationFinger / hand dexterity to operate kitchen machinery, knives, etc.Accurate cash handling and basic math skillsInterpersonal skills include the ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all ages, genders, and personalities. Must be able to effectively and regularly converse in and comprehend EnglishAbility to work in a team environment and independentlyAbility to take and follow directionResponds with a sense of urgencyKnowledgeable in safely handling kitchen equipment and maintaining supplies and equipmentExcellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detailAbility to recruit, train, and lead othersMust be able to resolve conflictBilingual English / Spanish preferredWhat Physical and Environmental Requirement You Will Need to Have :
