We are looking for a skilled Project Estimator to join our team and contribute to our reputation for excellence.
Position Summary :
The Project Estimator will play a crucial role in the financial and planning aspects of our commercial fencing projects. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in cost analysis, budgeting, and an in-depth understanding of construction processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Estimation and Cost Analysis :
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial fencing projects, including take off, labor, materials, equipment, and other expenses.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Bid Preparation :
Compile and submit complete bid packages to clients.Work closely with the sales and project management teams to ensure competitive and accurate bids.Market Analysis :
Stay updated with market trends in the fencing and construction industry.Analyze vendor costs, labor rates, and other market factors that affect project costs.Client Interaction :
Communicate with clients, engineers, architects, and contractors to discuss cost estimates and resolve financial queries.Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.Project Support and Collaboration :
Collaborate with project managers to monitor project expenses against the estimates.Provide support in project planning and scheduling based on cost analysis.Reporting and Documentation :
Maintain comprehensive records of estimated and actual costs for all projects.Prepare and present reports on cost discrepancies and budget overruns.Continuous Improvement :
Regularly review and update estimating techniques, tools, and software.Contribute to the development of best practices in estimating procedures.Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or applicable experience.Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimation, preferably in commercial fencing or related construction industry.Knowledge of commercial fencing materialsProficient in estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, AccuBid) and MS Office Suite.Strong analytical and mathematical skills.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.Physical Requirements :
May be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and telephone, along with other general office equipment.Close vision abilities required due to computer work.Light to moderate lifting / carrying of 25 lbs may be required.Reaching overhead or below.Work environment may include being able to tolerate moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phones, printers, light traffic)Ability to work in a confined area.Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended periodBenefits :
