JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Sales Account Executive to secure each project and client for each bid opportunity or design/build request.
- Perform site visits to help understand project site and customer vision.
- Develop Bill of Materials and obtain pricing to provide creative cabling solutions to win work in competitive environments.
- Prepare designs that meet the job requirements and the applicable codes and standards.
- Communicate with an account executive, client, architect, project engineer, and other contractors as required.
- Acquire project documents, perform take-offs, review specs, estimate materials and labor needed.
- Price materials with vendors, secure pricing from sub-contractors when needed, and prepare a complete estimate and scope of work using our estimating software.
- Assist in project deployment post-award in cooperation with the operations department.
- Coordinate with operations on project documents needed for the field.
- Work with the client, architect/engineer, and others on pre-construction meetings in support of the project manager if required.
- Coordinate creation of design drawings and product specifications required during the submittal process as well as verify as-builts during the close-out process.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures; and report all accidents, hazards, and equipment problems.
- Other related sales and job tasks, assignments, and responsibilities.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience installing, servicing, and maintaining low voltage cable infrastructure systems such as Category 3, Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6 and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems.
- Proven ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables to include twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded & solid conductor low voltage cable, single mode & multi-mode fiber optical cables.
- Carry over 40 pounds of hardware and products
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of telecommunications industry and/or installation including voice, data, and video structured cabling systems.
- BICSI RCDD Certification is strongly preferred but not required.
- Solid working knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, communication standards, and installation. Experience in communications cabling is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, notes, and specifications to provide a response that meets the requirements provided.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong organizational skills and self-discipline.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform basic math functions.
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license.
