Position Summary
As a Production Drafter, you play a crucial role in transforming design concepts into precise shop drawings for our manufacturing team. Your work will serve as the blueprint that guides production, ensuring each element of a project is built accurately and efficiently. From standard signage programs to custom, one-of-a-kind installations, you’ll apply both architectural and mechanical thinking to develop high-quality drawings. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are key, as your contributions directly impact project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed shop drawings based on architectural elevations, renderings, and field conditions to guide manufacturing.
- Collaborate with production managers and team leads to review drawings, discuss materials, and plan project execution.
- Participate in methodology meetings related to assigned projects.
- Investigate and resolve product quality issues in accordance with company guidelines.
- Take full ownership of project documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the production process.
- Communicate effectively across teams via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- Adapt to a fast-paced, high-volume environment, balancing collaboration with designers and manufacturing teams.
- Take on additional duties as needed to contribute to project and company success.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Education: AutoCAD certified in mechanical, architecture, drafting, engineering, or a related field
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in one of the above, a plus.
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (a plus)
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Smartsheets (preferred).
- Communication: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Work Ethic: Professional attitude with a commitment to quality and teamwork.
