SUMMARY
The primary function of the Fuel Supply Coordinator is to procure the most cost efficient and reliable supply for Circle K.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Build and maintain a strong relationship with a network of fuel suppliers in a designated territory
• Develop and implement fuel procurement strategies (supply optimization) to secure the lowest cost fuel in the market
• Monitor Nymex and other market tools daily to make optimal fuel buying decisions
• Negotiate delivered in deals and collaborate in securing excess truck capacity
• Relay local market intel to trading and marketing department
• Collaborate with Logistics in locating best supply point/cost during supply disruptions or arbitrage opportunities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Other combinations of job related experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted
• Experience: 1-3 years (preferred) preferably in petroleum supply industry
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Business Process Skills:
- Ability to negotiate favorable deals and terms
- Petroleum industry and supply chain knowledge (preferred)
- Knowledge of fuel pricing and contract mechanics such as PLATTS, OPIS and ARGUS
- Understand market timing and fundamentals that move rack prices
- On call weekends and after normal business hours
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
General Skills:
- Strong communication skills, team player, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self-motivated,
- good time management skills and innovative thinking
Typical Physical Demands:
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision
- Travel may be required
