JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Leadership Development is a multidisciplinary role that reports to the Director, Global Leadership Development. The position requires a deep understanding of leadership principles, advanced facilitation skills, and the ability to manage large-scale programs and projects. The Manager of Leadership development will lead the development of impactful strategies to support a variety of leadership development programs and activities. This position will be responsible for a variety of development activities for both our field operators and functional leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of leadership development programming including registrations, event planning, curriculum updates, printshop and promotional item orders, budgeting, classroom facilitation, and record keeping.
- Design, develop and facilitate leadership development workshops.
- Prepare budget forecast for leadership development programming.
- Stay up to date on leadership trends and industry thought leaders.
- Offer group and individual coaching to program participants.
- Work with business leaders to conduct gap analysis and build program advocacy.
- Design curriculum for leadership programming and one-off requests.
- Work with LMS administrators to ensure timely and accurate program completions.
- Attend and successfully complete curriculum certification programs.
- Support marketing of development programs and all talent development programs
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Consultancy skills and the proven ability to work with senior business leaders.
- Professional training certifications in best-in-class leadership content by organizations such as Blanchard, FranklinCovey, Development Dimensions International (DDI), Thomas International, TalentSmart and Take Flight Learning (DISC).
- Experience in managing large training events. Skills include conducting stakeholder interviews, negotiation, logistics, vendor relations, budget management, marketing, learner experience, and working with talent and guest speakers to improve outcomes.
- Advanced facilitation skills and the ability to deliver leadership development workshops.
- 3-5 years of experience in managing a Leadership Development Program including managing program budget.
- Well versed in leadership development theory, trends, and common practices. Knowledge of work of industry thought-leaders like Simon Sinek, Ken Blanchard, Patrick Lencioni, Stephen M.R. Covey, etc. You must be a student of leadership and management principles.
- The ability to perform a gap analysis.
- The ability to apply project management techniques to create large-scale leadership programs for diverse audiences in a corporate setting.
- Budget experience and the ability to apply cost centers and general ledger codes to financial records. The ability to process vendor invoices in a timely fashion.
- The ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Experience in getting work done with and through others.
- Ability to think creatively, to look at current practices and think differently and innovatively to design best methods for development utilizing technology
- Traditional (not necessarily digital) instructional design experience and the ability to create high-quality training materials (e.g. facilitator guides, participant guides, presentations, etc.). Knowledge of instructional design models like ADDIE.
- Proficiency with the following research and authoring tools: MS Forms or Cognito Forms, MS Whiteboard or Lucidspark, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Canva,
- Experience with Vyond, Synthesia and Articulate 360 a plus.
- Experience in managing the delivery of digital content through an LMS or LCMS, API, SCORM files, etc.
- The ability to produce lengthy, high-quality training documents.
- The ability to provide one-on-one and group coaching to program participants.
- Experience working in a matrixed work environment.
- A sense of urgency and adaptability to an ever-changing business environment is essential.
- Retail operations experience a plus
- Experience designing curriculum aligned to competencies
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:
- A bachelor's degree in HR, Communications, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Multiple facilitation certifications or accreditations from best-in-class curriculum providers such as FranklinCovey, Take Flight Learning, Development Dimensions International, Blanchard, Talent Smart, Wiley, etc.
- The ability to analyze and act on survey and feedback metrics.
