Sunair Electronics is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager. Responsible for designing the Company’s new product offerings and providing technical support of the legacy products. The incumbent is Company’s engineering primary contact to supervise the development HF, VHF radio systems, amplifiers, and ancillary components. This is accomplished through both significant individual contributions and the efforts of the supervised departments and the entire Company. The engineering department is a small, tightly knit group of technical experts who work closely together, usually under time and budget constraints to achieve the Company’s technical goals. Due to the nature of this environment, the Manager must be a highly knowledgeable, charismatic contributor who’s direct contributions can weight equally with those they supervise.

As a Engineering Manager you can expect to:
On a daily basis, he/she provides supervision and direction to the Company’s entire engineering & development activity. This includes supervision of inside resources and outside contractors / suppliers of both materials and services. The Company utilizes the services of both domestic and international sources of labor, assembly and materials. Incumbent should be familiar with the challenges and expectations when dealing with international suppliers.
The Manager applies management skills and available resources to meet internal and external customer
needs and expectations. Assumes complete responsibility for resolution of technical design issues.
Customarily works with minimal supervision & direction. Must have a strong knowledge and interest in
radio communications and RF technology. Occasional to moderate domestic and international travel is required in support of development efforts, resolving issues and assuring customer satisfaction.
Required Experience:
• 15 years experience in radio engineering, with five or more in a supervisory role.
• Must be accomplished with personnel management skills and conflict management.
• Must have familiarity with radio communications systems (RF), specifically HF radio and
associated sub-systems.
• Should have field installation and / or service experience with communications equipment.
• Must have experience with modems, data transmission standards and methods.
• Must be familiar with various industry standards, such as MIL-STD, FCC, CE, ETSI.
• Prior military radio communications experience (preferred)
Educational Requirements
• Bachelors’ degree in a technical related field, preferably electrical or electronic engineering.
Graduate degree preferred.
