How Will You Contribute to the Company? As a Sr. Network Engineer at CIS, you will share in the responsibility for complex aspects of network operations, including designing network solutions, executing major configuration changes, and resolving advanced technical issues. You will serve as a key resource for junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and expertise to ensure the seamless operation of our clients’ networks. Additionally, you will contribute to the creation of detailed network diagrams and documentation that support both internal operations and client engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design and Configuration:
- Network Architecture: Participate and lead the design and implementation of network solutions, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry best practices.
- Major Configuration Changes: Execute and oversee significant configuration changes to client networks, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to security protocols.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Perform advanced troubleshooting for complex network issues that have been escalated.
Support and Mentorship:
- Resource for Professional Growth: Serve as a technical expert and resource for NOC Engineers, Technicians, and other team members, providing guidance on challenging issues and best practices.
- Training and Development: Assist in the development of training with the training team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles effectively.
Documentation and Diagrams:
- Network Topologies and Diagrams: Create and maintain detailed network diagrams and topologies that accurately reflect client environments, supporting both operational efficiency and future planning.
- Technical Documentation: Develop comprehensive technical documentation that can be used by the NOC team and other stakeholders to support network operations and troubleshooting efforts.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Engineering and Project Management, to ensure network designs are aligned with overall project goals and client needs.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve network operations processes, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
This position is a hybrid position out of our Boise, Idaho office and will require 2-3 days in the office.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in enterprise networking focusing on network design and leading and executing advanced troubleshooting.
- Possesses expert-level theoretical knowledge of advanced networking concepts and industry best practices, with the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to audiences at all levels of technical proficiency, from beginner to expert.
- Expert-level proficiency in deploying and utilizing networking protocols and principles such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SD-WAN, BGP, OSPF, IPSec VPN, GRE Tunneling, and DMVPN, coupled with proven experience in executing significant network configuration changes and designing robust network architectures.
- Strong documentation and diagramming skills, with proficiency in tools such as Visio or similar (familiar with best practices with ITIL, KCS, etc.).
- Experience and familiarity in working with a multitude of network equipment vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cradlepoint, Meraki).
- High School diploma, general education degree, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and or equivalent experience in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certifications in advanced networking (e.g., Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIP, Fortinet FCP).
- Experience in small group and project leadership within an engineering team.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
