School Counselor – SYNERGY Virtual High School

The Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation (CiTi BOCES) invites applications for a School Counselor position with SYNERGY Virtual High School: Early College Pathways and Synergy Virtual Tutoring. Synergy is a fully virtual program that enables students to earn both a New York State High School diploma and an associate degree from Cayuga Community College in four years.

We seek a flexible, innovative, and tech-savvy individual who thrives in a dynamic virtual environment and is committed to providing unique learning opportunities for students. Strong instructional technology skills are essential, along with proficiency in virtual learning platforms and digital tools. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, engaging virtual community while supporting students' academic and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide virtual counseling services to students through interactive videoconferencing.
• Foster strong relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff.
• Support students' mental health, academic planning, and career readiness.
• Collaborate with districts across New York State.
• Maintain exceptional communication and organizational skills, particularly in digital platforms.

Work Environment:

This position follows a hybrid model, with a combination of on-site work at the CiTi BOCES Main Campus in Mexico, NY, and remote work from home. The principal will determine the designated work location.

Qualifications:

• NYS Certification as a School Counselor required.
• Strong proficiency in instructional technology and virtual learning tools.
• Ability to build an inclusive, supportive, and engaging virtual learning environment.
