SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Fiscal Intermediary Associate is responsible for administering Fiscal Intermediary services and assisting with program growth. The Fiscal Intermediary Associate assists people with I/DD and their families in utilizing Self-Directed Services and ensures all services are as individualized as possible. The Fiscal Intermediary Associate maintains a comprehensive understanding/knowledge base of the Self-Directed program/models, including regulations and day-to-day operations. Reports directly to the Self-Direction Manager.
Essential Functions (Job Duties)
Administering Self-Directed Services.
• Provides Fiscal Intermediary services in the Self-Direction Program
• Maintains a professional relationship with Support Brokers, Participants/Families, Care Managers and members of participant’s Circle of Support
• Ensures processing of paperwork, Life Plans and Staff Action Plans are completed in a timely manner and follows Self-Direction regulations and guidance
• Works with Brokers to develop and/or amend budgets based on the wishes of the Participant and their Circle of Support
• Acts as a liaison with the DDRO to ensure Self-Direction budgets are approved, as needed.
• Launches Self-Directed plans in a timely manner, upon budget and Life Plan approval
• Assists Self-Hired Staff with the hiring process and provides training on the service provision and electronic software
• Utilizes the electronic software for document retention and documenting purposes
• Follows all agency policies and procedures in regards to incident reporting
• Maintains caseload as assigned by Self-Direction Manager
• Other duties as assigned by Self-Direction Manager
Maintains a comprehensive understanding/knowledge base of the Self-Direction Program.
• Completes and maintains training requirements as a Support Broker
• Participates in trade organizations’ news groups, conferences, and trainings
• Maintains a good understanding of Person-Centered Planning and Personal Outcome Measures
• Maintains a good working relationship with DDRO
Maintains compliance with regulations and best practices.
• Assists Self-Direction Manager with ensuring program is following regulatory requirements and being prepared for external/internal reviews.
• Performs OPWDD and agency compliance reviews of Life Plans, Staff Action Plans and other regulatory paperwork.
• Stays up to date on policies, procedures, and regulations
Maintains Fiscal viability and accountability.
• Works closely and collaboratively with the Self-Direction Billing Specialist and Self-Direction Manager to ensure billing is timely and all required elements are present
• Monitors spending of Participant’s budgets to ensure that agency resources are fully recouped within the appropriate billing period
• Monitors Participants budget utilization, communicates overages and trends to the Support Broker, providing ongoing review
Ensures all Self-Direction services are as individualized as possible.
• Attends Life Plan and Circle of Support meetings, as needed, to ensure the success of Self-Directed plans
• Communicates with participants when questions arise regarding their plans
• Evaluates and reviews Staff Action Plans to ensure they meet participant’s needs
Competencies

Qualifications
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a fulltime, 40 hour a week position.
Workweek schedule: Monday through Friday.
Hours of work: 8:00am to 4:30pm
Hours and schedules may vary depending on Company and Self-Direction Participant need. Employees will be given as much notice as possible when such changes occur.
Travel
Travel to Participant’s choice of meeting locations may be necessary, as well as occasional travel for trainings. Mileage will be reimbursed at agency rate.
Required Education and Experience
Associates Degree in Human Services or in Business/Accounting with 1 years’ experience in a Human Services Position.
