Desired Qualifications:
- 4 years of proven experience in business development or new business development
- 4 years of Outside Sales experience
- 2 years of experience in account management; property management industry experience a plus
- 2 years of experience negotiating and partnering with C-suite-level partners
The ideal candidate for this position:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in business development/outside sales with a proven track record of meeting/ exceeding sales targets
- Strategic & analytical approach to developing business
- Industry knowledge and experience in the property management, single family rental or real estate industries

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sales Development - Identifying new business opportunities through networking, conferences, LinkedIn, social media, office visits, market research, local events and organic outreach efforts.
- Client engagement - Build genuine connections with prospects as you build credibility and commitment for the suite of services that Citizen provides.
- Effectively manage a sales pipeline to provide transparency into our new business revenue opportunities as deals progress throughout the sales cycle.
- Utilize our CRM and pipeline management platforms to track key elements and details of each unique new business opportunity.
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding agreed upon sales quotas / targets on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.
- Responsible for keeping up on industry trends and understanding our ideal client profile to generate meaningful long term revenue opportunities for the business.
- Work cross functionally with other teams within the organization to align sales strategy to marketing, support and operational strategies within the business.
- Responsible for delivering demos to prospective clients.
- Responsible for comprehensive account onboarding & client success in conjunction with the team to ensure a seamless transition from Sales to Client Success.
- Measure and report on KPI’s attached to the Sales seat - Sales activities completed, discovery meetings set and kept, contract signatures, etc.
- Set and conduct discovery meetings with key decision makers for the respective companies in the sales pipeline.
- Attend conferences and events as part of the prospecting process. May involve overnight travel.
- Responsible for demonstrating a deep understanding of services that Citizen provides to its clients.
Client Experience and Engagement
- Represent Citizen in a professional manner while interacting with clients and industry peers throughout meetings, conferences and in the field.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless client experience throughout the sales cycle.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the client journey throughout the sales cycle.
- Active listening to provide critical feedback to internal teams, from the client about our services, processes and procedures.
Data Analytics, Administrative, and Reporting
- Ensure quotas / targets are met
- Manage travel / conference budget according to T&E policy
- Communicate industry trends, customer feedback and common objections to the marketing team to help advocate for new ways to effectively support our clients
- Utilize company and industry data to successfully convert prospects into clients
- Provide weekly reports on:
- Number of discovery meetings set
- Number of sales activities (calls, emails, texts, meetings, messages, etc.)
- Number doors added to the pipeline
- Number of doors signed
- Provide monthly reports on:
- Total contracts
- Total number of doors added
- Total number of new clients
- Total number of discovery meetings kept
- Total percent to quota
- Provide quarterly reports on
- Total number of new clients
- Percent to quarterly quote achieved
- Metrics
- Number of new doors added
- Average portfolio size of new client added
- Number of outbound sales activities
