Overview
We have a career opportunity for a Meter Reading Supervisor to join our team!
The successful candidate coordinates and supports the daily operations of reading gas, water, wastewater and thermal meters. Provides supervision to Meter Readers by monitoring individual and group performance through statistical process control and necessary review and support. Responsible for hiring and maintaining the appropriate staffing levels to ensure accurate and timely meter reads. Responsible for the appropriate training and field qualification of all meter readers. Collaborates with the Supervisor Meter Services - Meter AMR & Meter Shop to ensure route efficiency. Ensures that meter reads are successfully transferred to C2M daily to ensure accurate and timely billing. In addition, the supervisor will be expected to cross-train with the Supervisor Meter Services AMR and Meter Shop and the Supervisor Meter Services – Meter Severance. The Supervisor of Meter Reading will be required to know the technology uitilized to maintain the AMR systems and perform meter testing as well as the technology required to the complete meter severance orders in order to fill-in for the Supervisor Meter Services – AMR and Meter Shop and the Supervisor Meter Services – Meter Severance in their absence.

Minimum Salary (Grade 10): $84,200/yr

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides Leadership to Meter Readers which includes but is not limited to; scheduling, training, monitoring quality assurance through statistical process controls and collaborating with Human Resources to ensure the success of the hiring process.
- Responsible for the operation of Automated Systems and handheld units and other software or hardware required for meter reading (Itron, Sensus Shiftboard, CN80, FC300)
- Assisting in the Design and Maintenance of Meter Reading Routes
- Verification, creation and coordination of meter reader field service orders. Collaborate with partners to ensure orders are completed in timely manner.
- Customer Relations (Inquiries, Complaint investigation and resolution)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Business from four-year College or University or relative field; or 3 – 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Have an understanding of statistical process control and variation.
- Ability to read gas and water meters efficiently and accurately
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate various tasks simultaneously
- Must have knowledge of gas meters, water meters, remote devices, and ERT modules
- Must know the geography of Citizens Energy Group’s service territory for the coordination of routing and route maintenance.
- Must be able to work without direct supervision and plan, organize, and schedule all activities and have strong problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong leadership and communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to interact with both internal and external customers.
- Must have broad knowledge of Utility Operations.
- Knowledge/understanding of PC Software: Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Must maintain and hold a valid Indiana Driver’s license
- Required to participate in the PHMSA 192 Random Drug & Alcohol Program
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
- Working knowledge of the Meter Reading systems, Field Collection software to enable system operation, data transfer, report generation, and system troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of C2M, GIS and other Citizens Energy Group software to ensure efficient records management.
