JOB SUMMARY
Loads, unloads, and tends to laundry machines to clean soiled linen. Adds cleaning solutions to machines. Dries, folds, sorts, and counts articles according to identification or type to verify quantities. May press articles. Distributes laundered articles to appropriate hospital departments and keeps accurate records for inventory.
Job Specific:
- Operates linen processing equipment. (EF)
- Dries, sorts, folds and counts clean linen. (EF)
- Collects, processes, and washes soiled linen. (EF)
- Works in close proximity with others; requires cooperative disposition and positive, helpful attitude. (EF)
- Delivers adequate supplies of clean linen and keeping accurate records.
Hospital:
- Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
- Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital’s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
- Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
- Performs within professional Scope of Practice at all times.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Required: Ability to read and write in English; perform basic math
Preferred: High School diploma
EXPERIENCE
Required: Processing laundry
Preferred: Two years' experience in a healthcare environmental services or laundry; experience with commercial laundry equipment
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required: Must be able to lift at least 35lbs
