Citizens Options Unlimited is seeking a highly motivated and caring individual to fill the position of Residential Support Specialist. As a Direct Support Professional in our residential services program, you will provide support and guidance to individuals with intellectual and other disabilities in their daily routines, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with intellectual and other disabilities with daily routines, including self-care, health, safety, and socialization.
- Support individuals in becoming active members of their communities, maintaining and building upon natural supports and relationships.
- Participate in household chores and assist individuals with completing these tasks as needed.
- Adhere to treatment plans and utilize adaptive equipment to promote independence and ensure health, safety, and well-being.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid NYS driver's license and qualified driver status throughout employment.
- Ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives/information.
