We are looking for a State and Local Tax Director to join our Tax Department. As a State and Local Tax Director, you will be responsible for:
Responsibilities:
- Income and indirect tax nexus.
- Apportionment and revenue sourcing for income, business activity and indirect taxes.
- Sales taxability matrices and analysis for indirect taxes.
- Credits and incentives for job creation and qualifying investments.
- SALT planning and implementation.
- M&A SALT due diligence for pending transactions, and
- SALT controversies involving audits and administrative appeals.
The position involves working in a highly interactive and dynamic team environment within Citrin Cooperman’s National SALT practice. Candidates should have strong research and communication (i.e., writing, and oral) skills as well as a comprehensive understanding of multi-state tax concepts. Qualifications
- BS in Accounting, LLM or Master’s in Taxation.
- CPA and/or JD preferred.
- Broad SALT experience, including income/franchise tax, personal income tax, and sales/use tax.
- 10 years of tax experience working in a public accounting or law firm of which at least 4 of the years was exclusively in SALT.
- Ability to grow strong team relationships.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing both internally and externally.
- Strong analytical and research skills in a firm or corporate environment.
- Highly organized.
- A strong desire to learn new concepts and apply these concepts real-time.
Salary : $120,000 - $240,000
