This is a career opportunity with the Supervisor of Election’s office in Information Technology and Election Support. The applicant must have the potential to grow into a leadership role. Includes writing standard operating procedures and the ability to read and understand Florida Statutes. Assist with the setting up of the early voting sites and warehouse projects. Must be detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to multitask and work independently as well as in a team. This is a fast-paced position in a constantly changing environment. Must be available to report to the office outside of normal business hours in the event of an emergency or otherwise urgent matter.
Please Note: The starting pay range is $17.00 to $22.00 per hour, with the exact rate determined by experience.

Essential Functions
- Assist with maintaining computers, software, and hardware components including asset inventory, documentation, and disposal.
- Support staff with desktop applications as directed by IT department.
- Assist with setup and configuration of computers, printers, and other peripherals as directed by IT department.
- Assist with Service Level Agreements and contracts.
- Assist with maintaining a working budget for technology purchases, hardware/software, and maintenance fees.
- Assist with GIS mapping to include streets, precincts, and boundaries.
- During an election cycle, assist with tabulation, canvassing, equipment training classes, and election audits.
- Assist with election equipment preparation and maintenance.
- Assist with early vote and precinct set up/tear down and packing and loading of election supplies.
- Assist with poll worker training, to include preparation and set up, signage and building access.
- Assist with voter outreach outside the office as needed, including some nights and weekends.
- Assist with warehouse tasks as needed.
- Assist with mail pickup and drop-off as needed.
- Assist with petition verification as needed.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Assist the Supervisor of Elections in special projects and special assignments.
- Familiarize self with current Election Laws, Rules, Forms, SOE Resources, procedures, and processes.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education, Training, and Experience
- Associate’s degree, preferably in Information Technology, network management or equivalent, and two (2) or more years of progressively responsible work experience in computer or technology-related field that requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- A combination of education, experience and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted for the minimum education requirement.
- Requires an intermediate level of IT skills.
- Must have strong working knowledge of computers and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience with routine software maintenance updates on computers and reviewing reports and logs.
- Experience with set-up and configuration of computers, printers, and other peripherals.
- Effectively work with the public.
- Effectively work in a team environment.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and management of priorities.
- Knowledge to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain courteous and effective relations with elected officials, staff, poll workers, vendors and the public.
- Understand and implement Florida Statutes as they apply to election laws.
- Must possess and maintain a FL driver’s license in good standing.
- As this position is required to occasionally work after normal business hours, you must reside within Citrus County and be able to report to work within 30 minutes should an emergency arise.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed during an election cycle.
- The job involves occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Requires a combination of standing, walking, and sitting.
- The job requires frequent bending, squatting, and balancing, and on occasion crawling, climbing, kneeling, throwing, twisting, and reaching above shoulders.
- The job requires the completion of tasks that involve simple grasping and fine manual manipulation, and occasional pushing, pulling, operating foot controls/levers, and driving automotive equipment.
- The job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, depth perception and color vision, hearing, and speaking.
