What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse & Election Support position at Citrus County Board of County Commissioners?
This is a career opportunity with the Supervisor of Elections in the area of warehouse and elections preparation and maintenance. The position has varied tasks requiring the ability to multi-task and focus on details and deadlines. Organizational skills, management of a warehouse, and the ability to maintain schedules are required. Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as in a team. Must be available to report to the office outside of normal business hours in the event of an emergency or otherwise urgent matter.
Please Note: The starting pay range is $17.00 to $22.00 per hour, with the exact rate determined by experience.- Maintain, organize, and prepare the warehouse for elections to include organization, preparation, and packing of early voting and precinct supplies.
- Coordinate precinct rentals and maintain ongoing working relationships with contacts for early vote and precinct locations.
- Complete ADA surveys for all early vote and precinct locations.
- Responsible for logistics of early vote and precinct locations, including, but not limited to, access, set up and tear down.
- Maintain inventory for warehouse and precinct supplies.
- Assist with inventory administration of all tagged asset equipment.
- Coordinate document archiving and maintain GS1 and GS3 archive schedules for all Supervisor of Election materials.
- Assist with GIS mapping to include streets, precincts, and boundaries.
- During elections, create and coordinate schedules for part-time staff for equipment delivery/pickup and provide the necessary training.
- Assist with poll worker training, to include preparation and set up, signage and building access.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Assist with election equipment preparation and maintenance.
- Assist with canvassing, auditing, and election process as needed.
- Develop and maintain the warehouse budget.
- Coordinate and assist with routine and emergency building maintenance which may include time outside of normal business hours.
- Assist with mail pickup and drop-off as needed.
- Assist with petition verification as needed.
- Perform customer service with updates to voter registration records as needed.
- Assist with voter outreach outside the office as needed, including some nights and weekends.
- Familiarize self with current Election Laws, Rules, Forms, SOE Resources, procedures, and processes.
- Assist the Supervisor of Elections in special projects and special assignments.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education, Training, and Experience
- Associate degree or higher from an accredited school, or applicable technical certifications.
- OR: Two (2) or more years of progressively responsible relevant experience and/or any equivalent.
- A combination of education, experience and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted for the minimum education requirement.
- Requires an intermediate level of computer skills.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
- Must have strong working knowledge of computers and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Effectively work with the public.
- Effectively work in a team environment.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and management of priorities.
- Knowledge to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be experienced in technology, standard computers, and other office equipment.
- Ability to maintain courteous and effective relations with elected officials, staff, poll workers, vendors and the public.
- Understand and implement Florida Statutes as they apply to election laws.
- Must possess and maintain a FL driver’s license in good standing.
Residency
- As this position is required to occasionally work after normal business hours, you must reside within Citrus County and be able to report to work within 30 minutes should an emergency arise.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to work overtime as needed during an election cycle.
- The job involves occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- The job requires a combination of standing, walking, and sitting.
- The job requires frequent bending, squatting, and balancing, and on occasion crawling, climbing, kneeling, throwing, twisting, and reaching above shoulders.
- The job requires the completion of tasks that involve simple grasping and fine manual manipulation, pushing, pulling, operating foot controls/levers, and driving automotive equipment.
- The job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, depth perception and color vision, hearing, and speaking.
- The job may require exposure to adverse and/or severe weather conditions.
