What are the responsibilities and job description for the Palooza Leader position at City and County of Broomfield?
Palooza Leader specializes in operation of our half day camp programs which may include state license compliance, and curriculum follow through for participants ranging in age (K- 15) Palooza Leaders maintain a safe and welcoming environment for the participants while following the State Licensing rules and regulations. The palooza leader will ensure each participant has an enjoyable experience while at camp explorer during field trips or onsite.
Program Hours: Weekday mornings from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM and once a month on Saturday from 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM.
Salary Range: $16.03 – $21.69 per hour.
Assists with daily activities, field trips, enrichment classes/programs and special events.
Leads all programs by example; coordinates and instructs safe and age appropriate programs activities.
Attend scheduled meetings as required.
Provides direct supervision to the participants.
Administers first aid treatment, providing emergency services when necessary.
Responsible for proper use and care of materials, equipment, site and facility use
Interacts and plays with children in activities that can include the following actions: running, reading, drawing, coloring, talking, walking and singing.
Provides comfort to upset children.
Assists with cleaning, and organizing supplies.
Administrative duties: Head count documentation, first aid documentation
Complete required training/ certifications in a timely manner.
Education
8th grade education or equivalent.
Experience
460 hours of verifiable experience with school age children.
Or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the necessary applicant traits and meets the State of Colorado licensing requirements for a School age program leader.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be 16 years of age.
