What are the responsibilities and job description for the Palooza Supervisor position at City and County of Broomfield?
The Palooza Supervisor specializes in operation of camp programs which may include state license compliance, and curriculum development for participants ranging in age (4-12). Palooza Supervisors maintain a safe and welcoming environment for the participants while following the State Licensing rules and regulations. Primary responsibilities include overseeing a specific age group within the program, and assigned staff- leaders, along with all aspects of the program which may include staff management and family interactions. Palooza Supervisor models appropriate behavior to create and maintain a resilient work culture within the camp work environment.
Program Hours: Weekday mornings from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM and once a month on Saturday from 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Salary Range: $18.22 - $24.64 /hour
Assists with the development, and coordination of daily activities, field trips, enrichment classes/programs and special events.
Recognizes the ability of the children in the camps and programs accordingly to meet the needs of the individuals.
Leads all programs by example; coordinates and instructs safe and age appropriate programs activities.
Attend scheduled meetings as required.
Provides support to program leaders and Assists Camp Directors and/or Recreation Coordinator.
Administers first aid treatment, providing emergency services when necessary.
In
Responsible for proper use and care of materials, equipment, site and facility use
Interacts and plays with children in activities that can include the following actions: running, reading, drawing, coloring, talking, walking and singing.
Provides comfort to upset children.
Administrative duties: Supports leaders with Head count documentation, first aid documentation
Complete required training/ certifications in a timely manner.
May act in the absence of the Camp Director.
Responsible for the safety of all children.
Education
A minimum of 60 semester hours in recreation or education with a speciality in art, elementary, or early childhood education, from an accredited college or University.
Current, valid AED, First Aid, and CPR Certifications preferred. (Certification will be provided by the employer if needed.)
Experience
910 hours of satisfactory and verifiable paid or volunteer experience, since attaining the age of 18, in the care of supervision of four or more children.
Or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the necessary applicant traits and meet the State of Colorado licensing requirements for a School age Assistant Director.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be 20 years of age.
