The program assistant will support CSU Extension staff in delivering hands-on garden programs for youth and families. The position will shadow and assist with programs, with support and supervision from the CSU Extension director. They will also assist with program marketing and participate in general garden maintenance as it relates to program planning and delivery.
This position is a part-time, temporary role.

Attend in-person outreach events at designated locations in the community to raise awareness of CSU Extension programs.
Support CSU Extension staff with set-up, clean-up, and organizational tasks related to garden programs.
Help with general garden maintenance as needed.
Interpret and present program materials to a wide range of audiences.
Assist in reporting program statistics and incorporating feedback from program participants.
Education
High School Diploma required

Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (in addition to above requirements):

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record for continued employment.

Requires indoor and outdoor activities.
Work will primarily take place at the CSU Extension office and Library, the Teaching Vegetable Garden at Brunner Farmhouse, and at various community locations selected for outreach.
Some weekends and occasional evenings are required.
Some opportunities for remote work with flexible scheduling.
Required to lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects during program activities.
Salary : $34,632 - $46,862
