What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Park Ranger position at City and County of Broomfield?
This seasonal position is scheduled approximately from May 15 to September 1 and is regularly scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Hours may vary based on weather and department needs.
Hiring Range: $20.84/hour - $25.47/hourThe Senior Park Ranger schedules and oversees the daily activities of 2- to 3-member Junior Ranger crews, consisting of individuals aged 14 to 17. The morning crew is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and the afternoon crew is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This position operates all equipment, ensures proper use of personal protective devices, and ensures daily assignments are completed properly. Each crew will have an assigned area of the City and County and will be provided a map to ensure routes are covered thoroughly.
Assigned tasks will include waste collection and removal, dog bag station maintenance and refilling, playground safety surface maintenance, and other small projects that may require small hand tools.

The Senior Park Ranger will have daily assignments including the following tasks:
Prepare a weekly work schedule for the ranger crews
Transport four junior park rangers at a time from a specified location to the appropriate job site and return them to their original pick-up site at the end of their work-day
Supervise and assist the junior rangers in trash pick up duties and other parks maintenance activities

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (in addition to above requirements):
New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, and background checks, which may include local police check and sex-offender registry. If this position is required to drive a CCOB vehicle a DMV check will be required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license and safe driving record is required.
Physical demands are described as medium (exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects).
Duties require a full range of physical motion and activities including manual Labor.
