The Denver International Airport (DEN) Design, Engineering, and Construction (DEC) division is actively seeking a Engineering DENtern to contribute to their division. As part of DEN's Strategic Plan, Vision 100, which envisions reaching 100 million annual passengers, DEC plays a pivotal role in transforming the aviation industry. The DEC - Systems division at DEN is responsible for Engineering support for projects across the entirety of DEN. These professionals work closely with DEN maintenance, planning and asset management departments to ensure that all systems and structures operate safely, efficiently and that installations comply with DEN standards.

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive pay rate to commensurate with education. The salary range for this position is $19.75-22.32 / hour, based on education. Denver International Airport emerging talent positions are required to attend all sessions of professional development within the cohort model. You will be onboarded with a cohort of peers to begin to help you develop your network across the aviation industry.
As an intern you will get to experience working on projects such as :
Sharing tasks with team engineers, such as participating in design reviews and meetings.
Updating piping and wiring diagrams.
Researching code requirements.
Developing content for DEN design standards manuals.
Participate in site walks / surveys to collect information or observe construction.
Participate in up-close tours / access to critical mechanical-electrical-plumbing (MEP) systems at the airport such as the utility tunnels and central plant, which can be unique and exciting for engineering students.

A Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, architectural, fire protection, or petroleum engineering.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement : Current enrollment in an accredited college program leading to a certificate, licensure, associates, bachelor’s, or higher degree in, or a recent graduate (completed specified program within 1 year of completion).
Experience : None
Education and Experience Equivalency : No substitution of experience for education is permitted.
License / Certification Requirement : May require a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

Location Flexibility
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model with a required 3 days in office. Employees work where needed to support business, at the Denver International Airport. We do not offer housing or relocation assistance for this position.
Internship Duration and Hours :
10 Week : June 02, 2025, to August 08, 2025, working part time (up to 39 hours per week)
