The following are general descriptions of the different Fiscal Officer levels within the City and County of Honolulu.
Fiscal Officer I (SR-26): $6,399/month. Responsible for the administration of a fiscal program which involves substantial need for financial management and afford substantial opportunity for a financial management program to function as a major participant or major tool of overall management as the programs involve the expenditure of significant proportions of the program budget for purposes other than employee salaries and administrative support.
Fiscal Officer II (SR-28): $7,198/month. Responsible for the administration of a fiscal program which involves operating programs that are highly complex and varied, involve an extraordinarily large budget, and/or are otherwise of a nature which affords the greatest scope and need for financial management.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a major in business or public administration, accounting or a related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Fiscal Officer I:
Four (4) years of professional accounting work experience, two (2) of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity in governmental accounting.
Fiscal Officer II:
Five (5) years of professional accounting work experience, four (4) of which shall have been in governmental accounting involving the management of a fiscal program.
