Minimum Qualification Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability too perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Two years of specialized work experience which demonstrated effective use of personal computers, peripheral equipment, and a variety of applications such as word processing, electronic mail, spreadsheet, and data base management, one year of which must have involved providing technical assistance and advice to users in resolving hardware and software problems by diagnosing and interacting with the users to provide technical instruction and information.
Such Experience Must Have Demonstrated:
An Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Science from a regionally-accredited college or university may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience.
A Bachelor's degree in Information Computer Science (ICS) or Management Information Systems (MIS) from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university may be substituted for the two years of required experience.

The Board Of Water Supply , Information Technology Division Is Hiring For An Information Technology Support Technician II in Honolulu. The Position Provides Technical Assistance And Support To Board Of Water Supply Computer Users Over The Phone, And In-person At All Board Of Water Supply Work Sites. Duties And Responsibilities Of The Position Include, But Are Not Limited To The Following:
- Assembles, installs, configures, tests, maintains, troubleshoots and resolves problems and provides user support and training for PC hardware, software and peripheral equipment
- Works independently, but has the ability to escalate problems and issues when necessary
- Purchases, receives and processes invoices for Information Technology (IT) hardware, software, equipment, services and supplies (e.g., desktops, notebooks, tablets, toughbooks, and Pocket PC hardware and software, printers, scanners, digital cameras, phones, server hardware and software, switches, routers, telephone server hardware and software, hardware and software maintenance agreements, network wiring services, etc.).
- Manages IT assets and performs a variety of complex clerical and routine administrative work in preparing, reviewing, evaluating and refining IT records, forms, materials and documents.

- Knowledge of methods and techniques of training for individuals and groups and the ability to plan, coordinate and provide technical assistance, instructions, and training on the proper use of a variety of computer equipment and application programs;
- Ability to install and maintain personal computer hardware and software applications based on established practices and procedures;
- Ability to evaluate software programs' functionality and effectiveness in meeting user needs;
- Ability to plan, organize and work independently.
