The Department of Design and Construction, Land Division, is hiring for a Land Surveyor I.  The position is based in Honolulu and under the direct supervision of the Land Surveyor V or the project surveyor, the Land Surveyor I will perform routine land surveying work and receive specific instructions in following well-established land surveying practices.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Using computer aided drafting design (CADD) and coordinate geometry (COGO) software for the preparation of sketches, worksheets and maps for acquisition, disposal and appraisal purposes.
  • Making closures and area computations for simple parcel, Land Court and subdivision maps.
  • Adjusting and computing simple triangulations and traverses and coordinate positions.
  • Assisting in simple land title studies, researches and reports.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geo-Science or an Engineering Specialty.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

All information on your documentation must be legible and complete in order to be given credit.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Valid driver's license (Type 3/automobile), prior to appointment.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE EVALUATION:

Your score will be based on the quality and quantity of your education, experience and/or other related job requirements and competencies applicable to the position.
