Installation Manager
Location : West Point, NY
City Light & Power (CLP) has built a reputation as an innovative, reliable, and responsive private Utility Development Leader. We support the federal government, military institutions, municipalities, and major utilities across the US, with financing, design, engineering, construction, and ongoing operations and maintenance for electrical transmission and distribution systems. We are seeking an Installation Manager for our West Point, NY location.
Installation Managers are the face of City Light & Power at each client location. They are responsible for overseeing the transmission, substation, and distribution delivery functions that include engineering, operations, planning, overhead and underground service crews, and electrical substation and testing crews. This management position is accountable for all aspects of CLP's projects at West Point.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Represent CLP as the Senior Manager at the site.
- Responsible for all aspects of the utility privatization contract.
- Communicate with owners, architects, subcontractors to chart out program objectives and plans.
- Create the teams, develop objectives / goals and assign responsibilities.
- The Installation Manager is the Point of Contact for Union IBEW Workers.
- Understand project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking expenses and minimizing exposure and risk.
- Ensure Base Commander receives the highest level of service.
- Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
- Understand project accounting functions including budget management, expense tracking and minimizing exposure and risk.
- Participate in estimate review process; follow up at project-end for close out.
- Approve procurement of materials, tools, and equipment for CLP.
- Maintain emphasis on the customer; develop an understanding of the customer's culture, key people and processes.
- Submission of Request for Information documents to customer.
- Prepare annual revision to the 5-Year Capital Improvement / Repair & Replacement Plan and present it to the customer.
- Attend and mange weekly meetings with the General / Crew Foreman for project review.
- Review all maintenance activities on a weekly basis.
- Stay abreast of, and resolve QA / QC issues.
- Review and approve look-ahead documents and weekly / monthly progress reports.
