Developer
PURPOSE: To assist Executive Director with all aspects of grant writing, fundraising, and Community Housing Development
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - JOB DUTIES: The following duties are
considered essential to the job. Qualified applicants must have the ability to perform the following duties.
- Take the lead with grant preparation, research, data collection, for development of funds for City Mission-Living Stones, Inc. These include grant proposals to HUD, LSA, RACP, PHARE, HAP, ESG, PATH, PA HOME, PHFA, FHLB, as well as foundations and local sources.
- Work with Executive Director and other community partners on special projects including and especially the development of affordable rental housing and/or special needs housing.
- Work with attorney through zoning issues, land use development issues, etc.; present proposed projects at zoning hearings, planning commission meetings as necessary.
- Work with development team including architect, contractor, property manager, and outside agencies to ensure compliance with individual program regulations.
- Assist with endowment support.
- Help facilitate and coordinate agency capital campaigns in consult with Executive Director.
- Solicit large gifts from foundations, individuals, businesses to support City Mission.
- Prepare reports for grant close-outs.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS-JOB DUTIES: The following duties are considered secondary to the essential functions listed above.
- Participate in community-related functions as a representative of City Mission.
- Provide input to Executive Director as to fundraising ideas, grant sources, program development, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Specific Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
BA in English or Communications, OR successful completion of a one-year certification in Grant Writing AND proven track record of successful grant-writing, Experience with housing development, detail oriented, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
Other specific requirements
Good computer skills – knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Typing, 50 WPM. Knowledge of general office equipment including copier, fax machine, adding machine, telephone equipment, etc.
- Essential Job-Related Experience
At least two years proven grant-writing experience and experience with capital campaigns.
- Preferred Job-Related Experience:
Five years proven grant-writing experience.
