SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting in maintaining a supportive, safe, and secure environment for all individuals including clients, staff, volunteers, and guests of the City Mission as well as reporting all possible risks to safety and or security at the Mission’s facilities.
Shift
This role will cover weekdays from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, with some occasional flexibility needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS

The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values and operating principles of the Buffalo City Mission.
- Monitor resident and guest activity, assuring the environment remains safe and secure.
- Assist Senior Manager- Risk Management with enforcing all safety and security policies and procedures consistently.
- Monitor camera activities as assigned by Senior Manager- Risk Management
- Document all safety and security incidents on the necessary logs and report to the Senior Manager of Risk Management immediately
- Consult the Senior Manager- Risk Management for situations not covered in the Crisis Response and Critical Incident Reporting policies.
- Assist in disturbances, check for weapons if indicated, and escort clients out of the building according to the Crisis Response policy and procedure.
- Oversee screening of all staff, visitors, community partners guests, event guests, community members and residents upon entry as needed.
- Conduct and oversee as necessary assigned internal and external building rounds
- Assist and execute random dorm/room searches to align with policies and procedures according to scheduled parameters.
- Cross-train on answering and directing of incoming calls as needed while providing excellent customer service
- Greet all guests and facilitate the sign-in process for all volunteers and guests who enter the facility.
- Coordinate, conduct, and log routine fire drills for facilities.
- Treat and interact with all residents and visitors in a respectful Christ-like behavior
- Oversee shifts and schedules of outsourced safety guards and work together to satisfy post-orders
- Responsible for training safety staff on processes and policies of the organization and report status to Senior Manager- Risk Management
- Assist in the process to ensure that confiscated items, valuables and assets of the organization are secured, inventoried, and accounted for (i.e. Locks, cameras, weapons, etc.)
- Ensure all safety risk issues are reported to the Senior Manager- Risk Management and document and log properly. This is to include crisis response, best practice industry safety, fire prevention and suppression systems, physical and facility safety (risk management and litigation prevention, slippery floors, etc.)
- Represent the organization to all clients, volunteers, and co-workers in a friendly, Christ-like manner that serves as an example of Christian behavior.
- All other duties and responsibilities as needed by BCM.
