BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER COMMERCIAL BANKING
What is the Opportunity?
We are seeking a Business Development Officer to source and develop new Commercial Banking business for our bank in an assigned sales territory. The ideal candidate will analyze the needs of prospects and provide information about our Bank products and services that can enhance their financial position.
The successful candidate will follow our Bank segmentation policy, collaborate with Relationship Managers and Team Leaders when closing deals, and interact with Bank colleagues to discuss prospects/referrals and formulate sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform prospect development activities in an assigned territory targeting the commercial banking business segment (companies with annual revenues of $40MM to $500MM) to achieve specific acquisition goals assigned by management.
- Source new opportunities with prospective clients through a multi-channel outbound sales effort, engaging relationship managers, leadership, and product partners early in the sales process to facilitate analysis, wholesome wallet share capture, and closing.
- Record all sales activities and key prospect information generated through daily outbound sales interactions in the designated system of record (SalesForce).
- Work with management to plan business development opportunities and strategies, taking an active role in leading the execution of sales strategies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial banking experience required.
- Minimum 3 years of sales and marketing experience required.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong experience with MS Office software and database application.
- Good understanding of all banking products and services applicable to the target client segment.
- Good knowledge of commercial credit policies and procedures, and bank operations policies and procedures.
- Good credit analysis and accounting skills.
- Ability to work well independently and in teams.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Compensation:
This role offers a competitive starting base salary: $122,535 - $208,715 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
