EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Ensures maintenance of equipment; interprets policies and procedures for staff; provides assistance where neededAssumes responsibility for special projects and events; monitors projects to assure accuracy and completionOperates a computer and software to type documents, input and retrieve data, and generate a variety of reportsTypes correspondence, memoranda, reports, minutes, briefs, appeals, and other documents pertinent to the department from written notes, verbal instruction, or tape; proofreads and corrects documentsDevelops and maintains cooperative relationships with other City departments, outside vendors, and the general public contacted in the course of work; attends meetingsOrganizes, develops, and implements procedures for recording and filing various forms and reports, and maintains filing systemsPerforms receptionist duties; greets public entering office and offers assistance; answers telephone and forwards to appropriate party, takes messages, or responds to questions, concerns, or complaints from knowledge of departmental proceduresSorts and routes incoming mail; processes outgoing mailMakes copies of documents and reportsFills in for other employees as neededProvides additional support when needed for processing of daily paperwork, paid specials, and timesheetsProvides additional support in maintaining the calendar for use of Administrative Conference Room or Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
