- Check and maintain equipment to ensure proper function.
- Assist in the installation of water and wastewater service taps.
- Assist in the locations, installation, service and upgrade water and sewer mains and lines.
- Attend safety meetings and follow all safety procedures and precautions.
- Assist in the maintenance and inspection of department equipment and vehicles.
- Log completed daily maintenance.
- Attend training as necessary.
- Ensure the safe operating conditions of the work site, i.e., traffic hazards, equipment operation, required barricades, road, and site areas.
- Locate breaks and/or leaks in utility lines for repair.
- Complete service orders.
- Assist Utility Billing, Wastewater and/or Streets Divisions when needed.
- Operate equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, backhoes, front-end loaders, jets, trucks, and dump trucks in the performance of tasks.
- Serve as call out crew as needed.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
