GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for manual roadway work. Assists in the maintenance and repair of City facilities, streets, and rights-of-ways. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Foreman or Crew leader, with direction from the Operations and Maintenance Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The following essential functions represent the primary duties of this position but should not be considered an all-inclusive list of responsibilities. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Performs work using a variety of hand tools, power tools and mowing equipment, participates in the maintenance and repair of sidewalks, right-of-way's, curbing and asphalt, concrete work, and trimming trees.
- Completes stormwater and street maintenance and repair activities, including use of heavy equipment in and around ditches, ponds and piping.
- Repair and replace damaged traffic or street signs provided by the City. Repairing signal and traffic control outages, including traffic direction.
- Reports any safety issues to supervisor, immediately.
- Complete pre- and post- trip inspections and notify supervision of any issues and determine if the equipment needs to go to Fleet for repair.
- Sweeps and cleans work areas. Ensure equipment is properly maintained, including fuel and oil maintenance.
- Completes forms, work orders, writes reports, delivers messages.
- Operates Dump truck, flat-bed truck, roller, front-end loader, back-hoe, forklift, woodchippers, compressor, pneumatic tools, power tampers, paint machines, various hand and power tools and street sweeper, loader, finish asphalt roller.
- Ensures safety of safe and other crew members by utilizing proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Performs any other duties or tasks that may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, provided that the education and experience are in a relevant and related field.
JOB LOCATION
All City owned properties and facility grounds, rights-of-way, easements, etc. Any off-site locations and facilities utilized as part of the City's participation or involvement in an event, activity or job assignment.
