What are the responsibilities and job description for the VOLUNTEER - Backstage Parent - Dance Recital position at City of Appleton, WI?
Examples of Duties
- Must be available for recital.
- Must arrive 45-minutes early to be positioned at assigned table/room.
- Greet parents and check in child using class list and/or recital program.
- Enforce NO FOOD policy. Water bottles only.
- Remain with participants during the entire show.
- Assist participants in dressing and putting on shoes and costumes.
- Check hair and make-up before they go on stage.
- Maintain a quiet and enforce quiet behavior in the hallway and backstage as participants are waiting to perform.
- Keep participants occupied. Have participants utilize the restroom facilities BEFORE they get backstage-escort; escorting children to the bathroom.
- Assist with line-up as participants enter the backstage area. Meet participants after their performance and take them back to their assigned table/room.
- Assist with the end of the show finale line-up.
- Bring participants back to the library area after the final "all class" ovation to pick up their belongings, then bring them to the commons to be picked up. Students will be dismissed from the commons. PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED BACKSTAGE AFTER THE PERFORMANCE.
- Assist with sweeping the floors, wiping down tables, and throwing away trash at the end of the each show.
- Presents a consistent, positive behavior while volunteering.
