- Welcome remote workers, entrepreneurs and students interested in using the space for work time, meetings, interviews
- Provide orientation information including: library resources and services, procedures about reserving study rooms and use of technology
- Welcome library patrons as they arrive and wish them a nice day as they leave.
- Answer simple direction-related questions.
- R patrons to various areas of the library depending on the patron’s need
- Supervising teen gaming station; interacting with young adults.
- Assisting with setup, takedown, storage of devices.
- Agility at learning new games; instructing young adults.
- Reliable attendance.
- Note facts on a data sheet while reviewing historical Post Crescent issues on microfilm
- Assist with an obituary checking project
- Collect information from plat maps and enter it into a database
- Tidying shelves in sections so patrons can find items more easily
- Ordering materials on a cart
- Friendliness and respect toward people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and abilities
- Ability to generally work regular shifts during a month.
- Be able to communicate with staff supervisor if conflict comes up in schedule.
- Other qualifications, according to each volunteer position, will be discussed during interview with volunteer coordinator.
