General Description and Classification Standards
Manages multiple accounting groups and / or more complex functions for assigned department(s) through subordinates to oversee the development, implementation and / or maintenance of one or more accounting systems : journal entries, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue reconciliation, cash flows in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of a variety of factors.
Supervision Received
Normally receives guidance regarding overall mission, short-term and mid-term objectives, scheduling, unusual priorities, etc. but is free to set work methods, timetables, performance standards, etc.

Manages multiple accounting groups or more complex function for assigned department(s) overseeing the development, implementation and / or maintenance of one or more accounting systems : journal entries, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue reconciliation, cash flows in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency. Ensures integrity of data produced in systems. Ensures accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data and revenue. Participates in annual audits and special projects. May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure record keeping of historical purposes. Manages the day-to-day operations of the accounting office. Creates operating plans, forecasts and reporting systems. Manages the budget preparation, submittal and administration. Develops organizational structure. Selects, develops and manages staff. Establishes internal processes, interprets and applies organizational policies. Provides input into policy and strategy. Manages purchasing, inventory, equipment maintenance and other asset related functions. Approves purchase / supply orders, expense accounts. Selects from multiple procedures and methods to accomplish tasks. May make purchasing or resource allocation decisions within organization guidelines. Applies organizational policies. Leadership Provided Has formal supervisory authority over work group (typically at least 4-5 employees) to include discipline, performance management, scheduling, training, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in an accounting, finance, Business relations (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis) 8 years' of specific professional experience. Must have at least 2 - 3 years' for management experience.
Preferred Qualifications - Education & Experience
Master's degree in an appropriate discipline (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the master's degree on an exception basis) with 2 - 3 years' of management experience.
