Recreation Instructor - Golf

Salary : $17.50 / hour
Teaches recreational and athletic activities in a recreation center in the City of Atlanta.
As a recreation golf instructor, my duties include an understanding of the golf game and being able to teach these concepts to students in a way that is easy to understand. Will provide effective communication to students and help them improve their skills. Duties also include specific skills, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to demonstrate the golf grip, stance, and swing. Observe a person's swing and offer corrections or demonstrate the proper way to execute the swing. Additionally, display a positive disposition, enthusiasm, and patience to ensure your students are comfortable and build a positive and beneficial relationship.
Supervision Received :
Works under direct supervision and follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Teaches individuals or groups the skills and techniques required to play the game of golf.
- Demonstrates to each student the proper grip, stance and swing.
- Demonstrates different golf shots and techniques.
- Provides instructions and tips on how to manage and play the course.
- Provides private lessons, adults or children, golf clinics, and seminars.
- Monitors the attendance of golf programming employees and ensure assigned tasks are completed on time, efficiently, and according to standards; responsible for performance evaluations and corrective actions needed for programming employees.
- Communicates with management for training aids needed and necessary equipment needed to perform the training.
- Communicates effectively with students to assess their skill level and develops appropriate lesson plans that will help them reach their goals efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Audits the practice facility on a regular basis. Reports on any unsatisfactory conditions for management.
- Assists in budget preparation, analysis, and administration for golf programs; analyzes and prepares reports on the budget status of programming activities; forecasts programming budgetary needs.
- Implements and supports all initiatives and programs as directed by management. Attends meetings as scheduled.
- Enforces rules and regulations of recreation facilities ensuring safety.
- Administers first aid as necessary according to procedures.
- Greets new arrivals to activities, introduces them to other participants, explains facility rules, and encourages participation.
- Maintains attendance records.
- Determines what equipment and supplies may be needed.
- Follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience - High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Two (2) years of recreation experience.
Licensures and Certifications - First Aid / CPR certification. Valid state driver's license required.
Preferred Requirements - High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) with two to three (2-3) years of summer / part-time recreation experience.
Work Environment :
Physical lifting and sensory capabilities are requirements to perform the job successfully. Typical environmental conditions associated with job. Be able and willing to work in all weather conditions
Lifting Requirements :
Medium work : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
