The City of Auburn's Mountain View Cemetery (Washington's leading Municipal Cemetery) is seeking an experienced Administrative Specialist to provide an opportunity to give an essential service to people in their time of need. Located on the West Hill of Auburn, Mountain View Cemetery overlooks the Auburn Valley and Mt. Rainier. The cemetery serves many area funeral homes and offers a full range of above ground and below ground interment options. Over 300 interments are performed annually.
This Cemetery is operated as an Enterprise fund and is a division of the City of Auburns Parks, Arts and Recreation Department.
Primary Duties
In this role you will:
- Maintains an extensive permanent records management system; maintains a computerized database file system for various documents and records.
- Performs clerical and administrative duties as assigned; answers telephones and assists the public by providing support or referring them to appropriate staff.
- Inventories and obtains office supplies on a regular basis; sources merchandise including, but not limited to, urns, cemetery memorial, vaults, and vases; processes new marker/monument order requests; reviews invoices and contracts for accuracy; performs weekly audits on delivery manifests to assist the Finance Department.
- Assists the Cemetery Manager by scheduling burial services with funeral directors; assists in preparing a daily calendar of activities, events, etc.; assists in the sale of property, services, and merchandise.
- Opens, closes, and secures the facility as scheduled.

Minimum Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have...
- Graduation from high school, or equivalent
- Three (3) years of related office support work experience.
- Experience in a cemetery environment
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
Possess and retain a valid state driver’s license with no impending loss at time of appointment.
