Driving Requirement:
This position requires a Texas Class “C” Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite. To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months.
Essential Personnel:
This has been designated as an Essential Employee position. In the event of a city-designated extraordinary situation or emergency condition, essential employees provide services that impact the public health, safety, utility services, and welfare of members of the Austin community and other employees, as well as ensure the continuity of essential operations. Essential Employees may be called back in during such events, required to modify their schedule, assigned to a City-designated work site, or retained on-site to assist with operations and recovery.
Pay Range
$25.74 – $30.50

Hours varies based on events – 40 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Supervise and administer all aspects of parking operations such as, revenue accountability, finance and accounting reporting, traffic flow analysis, and general maintenance of parking equipment.
- Prepares written parking plans for all events (to include surrounding businesses’ events and area events in the plan) and distribute to staff.
- Schedules parking attendants, overnight security and licensed police officers for all events. Identifies staffing needs and coordinate independent parking management and or security vendors to ensure that when the parking garage is filled to optimum capacity, additional overflow parking is available at area parking facilities.
- Analyzes parking and transportation needs and develop short and long range plans to meet those needs for the Convention Center. Palmer Events Center and the Long Center parking plans.
- Produces and reports to Manager all monthly revenue reports for all locations, and recommend improvements for generating additional revenue. Ensures cash receipts and tickets are processed by utilizing established internal controls and procedures.
- Assists Manager in developing and maintaining the division’s operating budget and make fiscal recommendations for capital improvements.
- Communicates and follows-up with area parking facilities regarding the use of their buildings for event and coordinate lease and parking space rentals.
- Attends all pre-convention and post-convention meetings, and all planning meetings with external business staff as appropriate for planning purposes
- Conducts facility inspections on a regular basis and document and report all incidents to the appropriate division to ensure that safety concerns are addressed for both customers and employees.
- Orders and produces signs as needed for the facility, access drives, entrances, and surrounding areas. Authorize and approve the purchase of supplies, services and materials.
- Addresses all customer complaints and inquiries, and assist in the resolution of conflicts and difficult situations.
