Position Overview :
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Writing Student Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a student passionate about writing, technology, and communication to gain hands-on experience in creating high-quality technical documentation. The intern will work closely with business process consultants, business systems analysts, utility account analysts and other stakeholders to develop clear, concise, and user-friendly content.
Key Responsibilities :
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information about business processes and services.Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, step-by-step process guides, FAQs, and training materials.Review and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.Assist in the creation of diagrams, illustrations, and multimedia content to enhance documentation.Test and validate documentation by following instructions and identifying potential gaps or improvements.Organize and manage documentation repositories using version control methods.Learn and apply industry-standard tools and approaches for technical writingQualifications :
Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.Familiarity with basic technical concepts and a willingness to learn new technologies.Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS SharePoint, or similar tools.Experience with or an interest in learning tools like Adobe Acrobat and MS Visio.Basic understanding of project management approaches is a plus.Desired Traits :
