BACKGROUND CHECK
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and / or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
PROBATION
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory 6-month probation.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The CitiStat Inspector (Grant Services Specialist III) supports Baltimore's city government by ensuring high-quality, efficient operations through data analysis, audits, and compliance measures as part of the CitiStat program.
This role coordinates operational quality assurance (QA) efforts and delivers actionable insights to improve service delivery across key agencies, including the Baltimore City Housing Department (BCHD), Baltimore City Recreation and Parks (BCRP), Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of General Services (DGS), and Department of Public Works (DPW).
The CitiStat Inspector champions operational excellence by implementing best practices, conducting QA reviews, and producing ad-hoc data analysis and dashboards to inform operational decisions and drive continuous improvement for city services.
RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication, data analysis, and project management skills, along with a deep understanding of city operations. The CitiStat Inspector excels in managing logistics, streamlining processes, and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives in fast-paced environments.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze data to identify trends, measure performance, and generate insights that drive operational improvements.
- Create dashboards, visualizations, and reports to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to inform policy decisions and optimize city services.
- Collaborate with CitiStat Analysts to develop and maintain data products that support agency improvement efforts.
