PROBATION
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory 6-month probation.

This customer service role supports youth ages 16 to 21, focusing on building goals based on their capacity, strengths, and developmental needs. Job Coaches assist YouthWorks Private Sector participants with workforce skills, placement coordination, and provide follow-up support. They serve as a direct link between youth workers and the YouthWorks program, addressing questions and ensuring a positive work experience for participants and worksite partners through worksite visits and ongoing communication.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Facilitate workforce readiness workshops, including YouthWorks Academy, to prepare YouthWorks Private Sector (YWPS) participants for job placement and retention.
- Serve as liaison between YouthWorks, youth workers, and employer worksites, to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution.
- Conduct interviews, screen candidates, and manage onboarding for youth in private sector positions.
- Provide individual career counseling, assessment, and support sessions for youth and employers to ensure job retention and satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate case files, notes, and records, including reviewing daily worksite attendance and verifying timesheet submissions.
- Meet with employers to address participant needs, ensure satisfaction, and offer support services.
- Visit worksites, observe work habits, address barriers to success, and promote productivity and upward mobility for youth workers.
- Assist with material distribution, timesheet training, and problem resolution for worksite supervisors.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in counseling, social work, education, vocational rehabilitation, job development or related human service field.
- Two years of related vocational or job rehabilitation experience.
- Or any equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience.
- Must have access to reliable transportation for the completion of assigned duties as needed
- Must be willing to use personal vehicle for the completion of assigned duties on a daily basis or as needed.
- Ability to pass a mandatory criminal background, fingerprinting, and alcohol screening
- Work schedule for this position is in-person from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday
- Must be flexible to work some evening and weekend hours
- Proficiency in virtual communications platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meets, etc.)
- Must be capable of completing data entry and search functions using varying software programs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Solid ability to operate Microsoft Office software
- Solid time management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Solid analytical skills, adaptable to changing priorities, and detail orientated
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Solid skills to quickly evaluate service delivery issues and identify resolution
