EDUCATION ACCREDITATION

Class Description
A City Planner I performs comprehensive project planning work of increasing complexity that may require knowledge of specialized areas of city planning. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.
Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek that may include evening and weekend hours. Work is performed in an office where normal working conditions are encountered. Work requires minimal physical exertion.

EQUIVALENCY (NOTES): Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in urban or regional planning, sustainability or environment studies, historic preservation, architecture, architectural history, nutrition, public administration, public health or a closely related field such as transportation and one (1) year of experience in performing urban, regional, transportation, environmental, sustainability, food access, emergency or historic designation planning work.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATES:
Some positions in this class may require a Maryland Class C driver’s license or an out of state equivalent acceptable to the Office of Risk Management.
