General police functions, include but are not limited to: protecting life and property, general patrol, criminal law and traffic code enforcement, city ordinance enforcement, and maintaining public peace.ACADEMY SPONSORSHIPThe Baraboo Police Department is now accepting applications for candidates with at least 60 college credits, who have not yet been through a Wisconsin LESB-approved academy. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Arrest persons with and without warrants and assist in prosecutions as required* Investigate complaints assigned and take appropriate actions, as well as conducting any follow up investigations necessary* Issue appropriate warnings, citations, and summons to violators as guided by departmental policy* Subdue resisting/violent persons* Handcuff and transport suspect or prisoners* Mediate civil disputes* Participate in formal training programs* Perform other tasks as needed
