Essential Job Functions:  Works daily with ESO, ESO Suite, and TMHP and prepares EMS billing.  Responsible for review and processing of daily EMS call logs; responsible for obtaining medical records from local hospitals and verification of patient information on logs, medical records and various websites and computer systems; responsible for proper assignment of workflow to EMS billers on ESO and with paperwork; receives and screens visitors and telephone callers;  supplies routine information and refers calls and complaints to the appropriate personnel;  tracks incoming EMS information; requests and tracks missing information from hospitals and EMS division;  verifies insurance information; processes mailing of claims and invoices; assists with claim/payment/denial research; assists with data entry as needed; responsible for confidential data; interacts with the public and other employees; assists EMS billers with workflow, schedules, and various job duties, as needed; operates various office machines including personal computer, fax machine and copier; distributes mail and other material to appropriate persons; assists office staff as needed.

Works indoors in a normal office environment.  Must be available to work 40 hours per week.  Must be available to work from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Knowledge:  Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment, including word processing, spreadsheets & personal computers; knowledge of business English, grammar, spelling and arithmetic.  


Skills/Abilities:  Ability to answer a multi-line phone; ability to maintain clerical records; ability to operate a personal computer; ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instruction; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public; ability to type; receptionist skills.  


Physical Requirements:  Essential:  constantly sees and hears; frequently  talks, sits and answers phone, operates office equipment, writes by hand, walks and types/key, files, sorts; infrequently kneels, bends, squats, carries, cleans and lifts objects weighing up to 10 lbs., and climbs stairs. 


Education/Experience: Graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in business; experience in general clerical work and answering a multi-line phone; experience in medical office procedures, medical billing preferred or collections desired.

Skills test will be administered.   Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test.
