What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Camp Supervisor position at City of Beloit?
Summer Seasonal: June through August (variable hours; approximately 20 hours/week)
- Supervises program participants
- Safety and direct supervision of youth program participants ranging in age from 6-13
- Work closely with the Recreation Coordinator to develop and plan overall camp program including activities/events
- Supervises and evaluates camp counselors
- Completes necessary paperwork (attendance forms, accident reports, etc.)
- Supervises and interacts with participants while leading age appropriate activities
- Ensure camp area is free from hazards and safe
- Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment
- Communicates clearly and effectively with parents and/or participants
- Work closely with the Parks & Recreation Department staff and volunteers to ensure all department rules and policies are observed
- Correct or report known safety issues immediately
- Provide proper first aid
- Conduct weekly staff meetings
- Ensure time cards are properly filled out
- Must be 18 years of age upon employment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Must be creative, enthusiastic, highly organized, motivated, dependable, patient and able to maintain discipline. Must be capable of following directions and have an ability to learn new skills. Possess good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to complete daily paperwork and work well with others from different cultures and backgrounds.
Wage: $15.00/hour
