What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Lifeguard/Swim Instructor position at City of Beloit?
Summer Seasonal: May through August (variable hours; approximately 10-40 hours/week)
Work Site: Krueger Pool

- Responsible for supervision and maintenance of Krueger Pool during work hours (including, but not limited to, security, cleanliness, and safety).
- Safety and direct supervision of swimmers during all open and lap swim opportunities.
- Coordination and planning of program related activities and events.
- Complete necessary paperwork specific to job responsibilities (attendance forms, accident/incident report forms, facility checklists, etc.).
- Encourage children to participate in activities through positive reinforcement.
- Supervise special events held at Krueger Pool. Serve as a positive role model to the participants.
- Perform set-up and take-down of program related equipment.
- Respond to emergency situations, following established emergency protocols.
- Must attend all required in-service trainings
- Must be 16 years of age upon employment.
- Current Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and AED certifications.
- Experience working with children.
- Physically capable of performing and demonstrating program related activities.
- Able to work duration of the program as assigned by supervisor.
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Must be able to work in hot and humid weather conditions.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
