What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Pool Maintenance position at City of Beloit?
Summer Seasonal: May through August (variable hours; approximately 10-40 hours/week)The Seasonal Pool Maintenance employee will maintain Krueger Pool including tasks such as, weeding, line trimming, planting flowers, litter/debris pick-up, painting, event set-up/take-down, tree/bush trimming, cleaning bathrooms, watering plants/trees, along with the operation of applicable equipment. This is manual work in performing a variety of cleaning, custodial, and maintenance tasks at municipal pool. It involves responsibility for care of pool building and grounds.
- Clean bathrooms and shower areas on a daily basis.
- Monitor and record water readings at least 3 times per day.
- Backwash all pool filters as needed and document in daily log sheet.
- Change pool strainer baskets as needed and document in daily log sheet.
- Monitor and document chemical levels and chemicals as needed.
- Mow and trim both interior and exterior of pool as needed.
- Mow and trim exterior walkways as needed.
- Monitor pool area for trash and debris and pick up as needed.
- Vacuum all pool wells as needed.
- Monitor and adjust sprinkler system as needed.
- Assist with other duties as requested by the Pool Manager and/or Recreation Supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age upon employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
- Experience in grounds and landscape maintenance and equipment care preferred.
- Knowledge of pool chemicals and pool maintenance required for the Grounds Maintenance II position.
Must be creative, enthusiastic, highly organized, motivated, dependable, patient and able to maintain discipline. Must be capable of following directions and have an ability to learn new skills. Basic computer skills required. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, possess good verbal, written, and listening communication skills, the ability to complete daily paperwork and work well with others from different cultures and backgrounds. Ability to work a flexible schedule is required.
Wage: $15.00/hour
