The City of Beloit has an exciting employment opportunity in the Police Department as a Vehicle Maintenance Technician I. This position is responsible to perform, as an individual or as a member of a team, the provision of proper maintenance and repair of the City of Beloit Police Department Fleet. This is a part-time position.
The Vehicle Maintenance Technician I is expected to assist in the performance of minor repairs, as well as preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles assigned to the Police Department.. They will assist with ensuring the functionality of law enforcement-specific equipment and technology and maintaining accurate and complete records on vehicles, equipment, and inventory.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
3. Minimum of 1 year of experience in automotive maintenance and minor repairs.
4. Experience in law enforcement technology and software preferred.
5. Specialized training certifications through Ford Fleet are preferred.
6. Automotive certifications through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (A.S.E.) are preferred.
7. Certification in FEMA IS-100 and FEMA IS-700 or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
8. Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered.
