The City of Biddeford greatly values employee wellness and work/life balance. Many of our positions, including all positions in City Hall, have a four-day, 40-hour work week (Fridays off!). The City’s Wastewater Division is looking for a Full-Time Wastewater Sewer System Technician.
Responsibilities
- Operating Biddeford’s jet/vac combo truck used for cleaning sewer system
- Working with the wastewater team on all other tasks related to wastewater collections and treatment
- Operating combo truck for maintaining sewer lines
- Basic maintenance on combo truck
- Maintaining pumps and performing inspections
- Performing additional tasks assigned by the Collections Supervisor or Wastewater Superintendent
Required Qualifications
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Valid Class B driver’s license
- Must be available for nights, weekends, and holidays as part of an on-call rotation
- Self-motivated
- A willingness to demonstrate a commitment to the City of Biddeford's work around diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience pertaining to wastewater collections and treatment
- Has operated heavy equipment
- Wastewater Treatment Operator license and/or Collections System Operator license
- Confined space entry
- Working with a computerized maintenance management software
- Experience using GIS
