What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concession Manager - Aquatics position at City of Bloomington Illinois?
Part-time position supervising a concession stand. Requires welcoming and positive attitude, staff training and food preparation, responsible for accurate accounting of transactions, and inventory of food. This position is only available at O’Neil Aquatics Center. Reports to Aquatics Coordinator and Recreation Program Manager.This list may not include all tasks and/or knowledge which may be expected of the employee, nor does it cover all specific duties which may be required. Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Age: 18
Preferred Certification:
- Plan, organize, and manage the operations of O’Neil Concession Stand.
- Train and supervise concessions staff.
- Monitor inventory of food, beverage and supplies to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
- Ensure food and beverages are of the highest quality through compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve service and profitability.
- Responsible for ensuring that the concession stand is kept in an orderly fashion.
- Maintain accurate standards regarding cash handling.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Professional behavior in all interactions.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and have consistent hours for the last 2 weeks of the season.
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, outgoing, energetic, and have an ability to problem solve.
- Previous experience in a cash handling or customer service position preferred.
- Must be customer focused while enforcing facility policies in a consistent tactful manner.
- Must be comfortable working with people of all ages and occasionally difficult work situations.
- Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be comfortable standing for long stretches of time.

- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- Illinois Food Managers Certification
